NoPa (North of the Panhandle), is one of the few neighborhoods to have survived San Francisco’s 1906 earthquake, making it (and its gorgeous Victorian houses) some of the oldest in the city. Nestled as it between Golden Gate Park and Divisadero Street, NoPa offers the perfect mix of outdoor activities and some of the best dining opportunities San Francisco has to offer. NoPa was one of the centers of the city’s jazz scene, along with Fillmore Street and North Beach. The Independent, on Divisadero street, still plays homage to its days as a jazz club.
